I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalm 34:1
I love these words from David's pen, they've been running in my head frequently of late. There is so much here to be gleaned.
I will.
It's a choice...I will, I will choose to bless the Lord at all times.
Will...not a mere act, but from the depths of who I have been created to be, I will choose Him above all others.
Bless, when I think of the word bless I think very often of God blessing us, of the many blessings given, of someone praising the Lord. The common position of worship where hands are raised to the know what I am talking about. A dramatic sunset in the background the silhouette of a person with arms stretched towards the sky in a wide field filled with grass or bowed head of grain that we so often see on church bulletins or online when we search for Christian images.
Scouting up the Hebrew word I found it means to bow the knee, to kneel, to bow down...

I will bow my knee to the Lord at all times,
How different that sounds, I will bow my knee at all times, all times, not sometimes, not when I feel like it...ALWAYS. Always. I am falling in love with the word always...because it's always...I know, some explanation. But is that not what we all crave? An always? A faithful always? He is that! And I will bow my knee to Him without question, reserve, retreat, or regrets, His praise-adoration-thanksgiving shall be continually in my mouth, for here I am His, here I am to worship and bow down here I kneel with complete consecration and say You are My God--there is no other, there is none like You, none beside You in my heart. All I want is Christ, Christ my crucified One, the One who shed His blood for me. Here I stand in His righteousness, Here I bow to His will-whatever it is. Here I am, willing to partake of whatever that which is Christ's lot, may it also be mine, to drink of that cup from which He drank, is not too much for me. May the words of Ruth to Naomi echo in my heart towards my Lord, to be wherever He is, that is where I long to be...and even in death I will not be separated from Him but complete and whole and seeing His face for the first time. How sweet that will be.

Tis' so sweet to trust in Jesus.

I will an act of choice, choosing Him to be supreme above all others and all else, bow my knee in complete devotion to Him and His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Duet Novel Tour Spotlight!

Rebekah Morris and Faith Blum have teamed up for a fun Christmas Duet Blog Tour! Why Christmas Duet? Because both books have titles that have to do with a Christmas song! Be sure to check out all of the blog posts as well as the giveaway.

His Law is Love

Book Description:

Will hate and fear drown the song of Christmas love? Amelia is eagerly anticipating her first Christmas in the west, but she soon finds that her brother-in-law's worry and her sister's exhaustion reach far deeper than the cares of a ranch and a family. A rash of fires and cattle thefts is plaguing the area, and the three young orphans they've sheltered are under suspicion from their prejudiced neighbors. As hostilities mount, Amelia seizes every opportunity to help and encourage, but how much can one girl do? Will Reverend Brown win the community over to the true spirit of love? And will help arrive before everything they hold dear is destroyed? Amazon Link:

Author Bio:

Rebekah A. Morris ia a homeschool graduate, an enthusiastic freelance author and a passionate writing teacher. Her books include, among others, Home Fires of the Great War, The Unexpected Request, Gift from the Storm, the Christmas Collection series, and her best selling Triple Creek Ranch series. Some of her favorite pastimes, when she isn’t writing, include reading, playing with her seven nieces and nephews, and coming up with dramatic and original things to do. (Sometimes with the nieces and nephews!) The Show-Me state is where she calls home.

Her attention was arrested by the minister’s deep baritone voice. “Christmas is only a little more than two weeks away, and at this time of year I am reminded of the words of my favorite Christmas song.” He stepped to the side of the pulpit and began to recite the words, but before he had reached the third line, the melody rolled from him and filled the church.

“Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;”

A thrill–was it of hope?–raced through Amelia, and she caught her breath as the voice seemed to shake the rafters of the church as the minister launched into the refrain.
Not a sound was to be heard when the minister, having finished the first stanza and chorus resumed his place and looked around on his congregation.

“Have you fallen on your knees before the King lately? Have you realized that your soul is not the only soul to have worth? Is not the soul of your neighbor worth as much as your own? Did not our Savior come to save his soul too? As this holy night, this night divine, approaches, let us remember why Christ came.”

About the Author

Faith Blum is a small-town Wisconsin girl. She’s lived in, or outside of, small towns her whole life. The thought of living in a city with more than 60,000 people in it scares her, especially after some interesting adventures driving through big cities like Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Faith currently resides in the middle of the state of Wisconsin with her husband and their cat, Smokey. She is blessed to be able to have writing as her full-time career with household work and cooking to do on the side. She loves to paint walls as long as she doesn’t have to do hallways or ceilings. When not writing, you can find her cooking food from scratch due to food allergies (fun), doing dishes (meh), knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, or spending time with her husband (yay!). She is also a Community Assistant for the Young Writers Workshop and loves her work there. She loves to hear from her readers, so feel free to contact her on her website.

The Christmas lights corded tightly around Jenna’s ankles and wrists. The crazy woman had even plugged them in, giving her body an absurd prettiness considering the situation.
The gun-waving woman gave a slow, self-satisfied smile. “Oh, I must have been good this year. Santa has given me a lovely gift. Many of them, actually.”
Jenna closed her eyes. “Santa isn’t real.”
The woman glared at Jenna. “Of course he is. He’s always brought me either presents or coal. Every year, even when I have no one else around in the house. I was told by all the kids about those fairy tales of Santa not being real, but how does that explain how I always got a present even when neither of my parents had been in the house with me for weeks? Or as I got older and moved away and had no one living with me, I always ended up with presents under my tree.
“Why are you decorating so late in the season, anyway?”
Jenna’s eyes flew open at the question that came directly into her ear. “I… I recently moved out of my parents’ house and didn’t want to get anything unnecessary like decorations. I also thought Christmas would be at their house, but they decided to come here, so now I need to decorate.”
“When are they arriving?”

Was it a sin to lie under duress?

A Royal Masquerade by Allison Tebo interview with Burndee

Hello one and all! I am delighted to say that Allison Tebo has another book coming out! I fell in love with her world and characters in her first book The Reluctant Godfather if you haven't read it, seriously go and get thy fingers on it at once...but before we get very far...I must tell you that I have had the chance to travel IN PERSON to AMBIA and interview our favorite Godfather, yes, indeed I did and here...are the results...

Allison:  Welcome to Ambia, Jessica!  I’m sorry I had to meet you here, but I’m sure you had no difficulty in finding The Magic Pumpkin Bakery!  This little shop is fast becoming one of the number one destinations of Ambia!

Jessica: I am so delighted to finally make it! I can assure you that this little shop is going to be my favorite stop in Ambia.

Allison:  Ella wants to improve Burndee’s public image. She convinced him to do this interview after she told him that the interview would help the bakery.  Burndee will put up with a lot for his beloved bakery.  Er, nothing personal, Jessica—Burndee’s just anti-social.  So . . . brace yourself!

Jessica: I am well braced.

Allison:  Shall we go in?

Jessica: Yes!

*Allison and Jessica stroll inside, past the eatery, and poke their heads into the back kitchen* (*ahem* Jessica might have sneaked in a few samples along the way)

*Burndee is mixing dough*

Allison:  Hi Burndee.  It’s time for the interview.  This is Jessica.  Are you ready?

Jessica: *can hardly believe her eyes and is so glad she wrote down the questions she wanted to ask him because now face to face with the legendary fey, she doesn't think she could remember a single thing if she had not written it down beforehand*

Burndee:  I’m busy.

Allison:  I know, but we don’t mind.

*Burndee blinks, then glares*

Allison:  Go ahead, Jess.

Jessica:  What is your greatest accomplishment in life?

Burndee:  Baking a ten-foot cake for the royal wedding.  No bakery and no baker in Ambia has ever constructed a cake that tall before!  And with angel food cake, no less.  Do you have any idea how delicate angel food cake is?

Jessica: I am impressed. *scribbles down notes*

Allison: *whispering to Jess*  Though he’s very proud of that cake, Burndee’s too shy to say what he really means.   Burndee considers marrying Ella and helping her turn her life around to be his greatest accomplishment in life.

Jessica: *scribbles down what Allison has "translated" and whispers... I was wondering thank you!

Jessica:  If you could only bake one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Burndee:  What kind of question is that?

Allison: Burndee . . .

Burndee:  All right, all right.  If I was forced to choose—pointed frown at Allison—I would bake cakes for the rest of my life.  Any moron could tell you that cake is the pinnacle of epicurean perfection.

Jessica to herself: Yes they are indeed...those samples were divine.

Jessica:  Burndee what does your name mean in Fey? I, unfortunately, do not speak the language and don’t know what it means, would you be so kind as to enlighten us?

Burndee:  Fairy names don’t mean anything.  Sounds or word are combined to reflect our character or produce a connotation that matches our personalities.  Didn’t you do any research before visiting Ambia?

Allison:  Be nice, you!

Jessica: *sends Allison a glance of gratitude before moving on* Stranded on an island that limits your powers what three things would you take with you?

Burndee: I assume you’re joking.

Allison:  It’s just a question for fun, Burndee.

Burndee:  That’s like me asking you if you would like to imagine being stranded on an island without the use of your legs. That’s supposed to be funny?  You can joke about it because you’re not magical!
Allison:  Oh, be a sport.

Burndee:  Oh, fine!  I would take flour, sugar, and eggs.  There, are you happy?

Allison:  *to Jessica in a whisper*  He’d also take Ella and Colin and Cynthia.  I think we’d better hurry up with this interview.

Jessica:  We know that the word ‘neat’ is a very treasured word in your dictionary, do you have any other words in your vocabulary reserved for special occasions?

Burndee:  *stony stare*  No.

Jessica:  Would you…play two truths and a lie? If so what would they be and can my readers and I guess figure out your lie?

Burndee:  I think there’s something like that played here in Ambia, it just has a different name.  I always thought it was a very stupid game.

Allison:  Burndee!

Burndee:  *sniffs*  1.  I never use the flavor lime in my baking.  2.  I once wrapped a baby octopus around someone’s neck.  3.  I once sort of owned a cat.

Jessica:  I’m guessing one is the lie.

Burndee:  *mumbling*  That was the lie.

Allison:  Stop sulking Burndee.

Burndee:  Maybe we should do it again; I made it too obvious.  Most people would know I would never element a perfectly good flavor from my baking.

*Allison shakes head and Burndee huffs in response*

Jessica aside to Allison: I am dying to know the other stories though...but from the looks of him he won't be prevailed to tell.

Jessica:  What is your best feature?

Burndee: *staring at Jessica and slowly sharpening knife*  My patience.

Jessica: *giggles into notebook*

Allison:  I apologize for him, Jessica.  Since he never will.

Burndee:  Hmph!

Allison:  I would say Burndee’s greatest feature is his good heart.  He grumps a lot, but he has a true and loyal heart that I think is beautiful.

*Burndee turns scarlet with mortification*

Burndee:  I don’t see what any of this has to do with helping The Magic Bakery’s public image—

Jessica:    What is your best feature, physically speaking?

Burndee:  *snapping* My cooking abilities.

Allison:  Well, I think it’s his hair. That tousled hair is adorable.

Allison:  Don’t you think so, Jess?

Jessica behind noteook: Yes....

Burndee:  *spluttering*

Allison:  Well, I think we’re done for today.  We’ll let you get back to work now.  Bye Burndee!

Burndee:  Come back here—!

*Allison and Jessica hurry out the door as Burndee yells after them and hustle down the sidewalk to hire a carriage*

Allison:  Sorry, Jessica.  He’s a bit of a monster, but I have to love him.  I don’t know about Burndee, but I had a blast with this interview!  I—ahem—do enjoy tormenting him.  Just a bit.  *smiles mischievously*

Jessica: Thank you so much Allison that was perfectly delightful and everything I was looking for in an interview with Burndee

Allison:  Thank you so much for having us, Jessica!  Ella wants me to give you a big hug for being patient with Burndee—and here’s another from me!
*HUGS* to you and to Ella! Thank you so much for this delightful passport into Ambia!

So, now that you've had the fun part of the interview! Now how to get your hands on a copy!

About the book!
Burndee can barely tolerate the mischievous Prince Colin, but the two of them are invariably thrown together in a way that keeps them at one another’s throats.

While attending a noblewoman’s wedding, Burndee and Colin’s private feud comes to a climax when Burndee loses his temper and does the unthinkable.  With Prince Colin unable to attend to his royal duties and Burndee bound by an inconvenient spell, can the two of them work together long enough to unsnarl the mysterious goings-on around them?
A madcap and magical retelling of The Goose Girl from a unique perspective.

Little Books Big Releases

Hello Dearest Readers,

I know it's been forever since I've written here and I am so sorry for not keeping you in the loop.
Well! Since the last time I wrote there is a new book on the market for you to get!

Waiting for Isaac.
This was a book that has been growing on my heart. The more single I become with every day the more I realize that though this journey is not easy, it is worth it.  It is a tiny, and my first nonfiction work but is a weaving of the heart I felt burdened to share with my dear single sisters on in the world who carry these same burdens.

So that is Waiting for Isaac and you can find it on:
Barnes & Noble

But the other book I wanted to introduce you to today was a short story that I had the privilege of reading this little story by Kellyn Roth: Goldfish Secrets

It's a darling little story that feels authentic, adorable, and very relatable. This little beauty will warm your heart and if you're a huge fan of her Lady of the Vineyard series is, of course, a must read. You can catch the little book here on Amazon!

Andrew could not remember a time he had been so weary. Every bone ached, but at last, he had reached the sea.
But something wasn’t quite right.
He had been to the sea before, but somehow he had taken a different path. This was a place he didn’t recognize and, once more, there was a newly constructed castle and tower, if one could call it that. The castle was small, more of a fort really. Who had built this? For what purpose?
A bit of color caught his eye. At the top of the tower, he saw the princess sticking out her head. He had found her! Now, what was he to do next?

Are you interested in reading about a knight, a tower, a princess, and a servant? Pick up a copy of Escape and Endurance! Haven’t read the other books in the Tales of Taelis series? Not to worry. Each book can stand alone.
About Sarah:

Sarah Holman is a not-so-typical girl, a homeschool graduate, sister to six awesome siblings, and lives in the great state of Texas. If there’s anything adventuresome about her life, it’s because she serves a God with a destiny greater than anything she could have imagined. You can find out more about her at her website:

Several months ago a small black book with a gold frame and the words The Reluctant Godfather, kept popping up on my Facebook pages. The little book seemed interesting and intriguing, the price tag for the paperback even more so, it had been some time since I had purchased a brand new book just for the sake of enjoying I popped the little book into my Amazon cart and ordered the little book. It arrived and I snuck away to my room to take a peek between the little black and gilded cover.

With cleverness and whimsy, Bernadee weaves a plot to get rid of both his problems in a happily ever after in one night. Stand in the Gap

From the Author: It took two days separated by a month to write Stand in the Gap:
June 21 and July 20, 2006. Originally, its inspiration was sparked in the spring of 2006 when
I heard Ezekiel 22:30 used as the basis for two separate sermons.
The urgency and sadness of the passage gripped me, and as I meditated on the verse
throughout the following months, eventually some of the word pictures God showed
me beggedto be written as poetry. My prayer is that through this poem, you will be challenged
to abide in Jesus Christ in the “gap” He has placed you in today, that through Him
you might be the missing piece needed in our country, our culture, and our families today.

Stand in the Gap!

The cliff is steep; the rocks are sharp;
The people are unwarned.
Few fences here to slow the falls—
Such help, the people scorned.
Every day, the screams are heard
Of souls caught in the trap.
Few men will take the task to warn.
Few men stand in the gap.
The faithful few stretch out their hands
More souls to spare mishap,
Yet holes are wide where men can fall;
Will no one fill the gap?
A lone man fills one danger’s spot,
No other near his ledge.
He sees souls lost he cannot reach—
Oh, who will fill the hedge?
The scream of one whom no one warned
Yet echoes o’er the strand.
Oh, if we could fill the gap!
Will no one take my hand?
Each moment, some new shriek is heard.
Warned ones indifferent stand.
They do not care that souls are lost;
Someone must take my hand!
I strain to cover still more ground;
We need to overlap.
I pant and ache as still I reach—
So few will fill the gap!
Indifferent ones! You have been warned!
And you hear each mishap!
Do you not care that souls are lost?
Will you stand in the gap?
You be the one! Then more will join.
Grasp out and take my hand.
You help to warn those blind and lost;
In the gap now boldly stand.
God grant us men! to rise and stand,
Those with strength to pledge,
“I will rise and save the souls.
I’ll make up the hedge.”
God grant us men! To lead and rouse
With grit to man the trap.
God grant us men! Who dare to cry,
“I’ll stand in the gap.”
